I believe therapy should feel like a collaborative and supportive space where you can show up fully as yourself without a fear of judgment.
My goal is to create a warm, compassionate environment where clients feel safe exploring the challenges that brought them to therapy, while also recognizing their strengths, values, and growth potential.
In my work, I take an integrative approach, incorporating elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). I am especially interested in helping clients navigate anxiety, stress, perfectionism, relationship challenges, identity development, self-esteem, and major life transitions.
Growing up in a Cuban-American household exposed me to many different perspectives from an early age, which continues to influence how I approach others and the importance I place on understanding each person’s individual background and experiences.
My experiences in studying in London, UK, and working within public healthcare settings overseas further expanded my perspective and deepened my interest in mental health and human connection. Being in new environments and working with people from different cultural and personal backgrounds reinforced the importance of approaching others with openness, curiosity, and compassion.
Alongside my clinical training, I have also been involved in behavioral and psychological research. My undergraduate thesis explored the relationship between human stress and interactions with animals, focusing on the connection between emotional well-being, behavior, and human-animal relationships. Through this work, I became especially interested in the many ways people experience comfort, connection, and healing.
I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Monmouth University in New Jersey and am currently completing my Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling at Teachers College, Columbia University. My experiences in behavioral health and research settings continue to shape my approach to therapy and reinforce the importance of compassion, mindfulness, and genuine human connection in the therapeutic process.
Outside of therapy, I love traveling, practicing hot yoga and Pilates, exploring New York City, and spending time with my dog, Espresso!”
