Sometimes we find ourselves caught in painful patterns, unable to see a way out or even know where to start. I believe that’s where therapy begins: a willingness to be open about our difficulties, look at them clearly, and invite a trusted partner into that process.
Through the safe and collaborative space of therapy, you can get in touch with your innate capacity to heal. As a therapist, I’m passionate about getting to know you, building trust, and creating that space together.
My approach to therapy is person-centered, meaning that I tailor the process to your goals. I utilize tools from Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), helping you become aware of negative thought patterns, increase emotional resilience, and build an intentional life.
I am currently pursuing a Master of Education in Mental Health Counseling from Columbia Teachers College, and have received a Bachelor of Arts from Bowdoin College in Political Science.
In my prior career, I worked as a podcast producer for ABC News. My background in narrative journalism informs my process now: I love making sense of complex narratives and piecing together a meaningful personal story. I’m also well-versed in the stresses of navigating a non-stop news cycle, something many of us struggle with on a day-to-day basis.
Along the way, I’ve also been shaped by a personal practice in Zen Buddhism. I’ve completed a year-long course in contemplative caregiving, attended retreats, and volunteered in end-of-life care settings. I aim to bring a sense of groundedness to my therapy practice. I’d welcome exploring the spiritual dimensions of mental health and life more broadly, for those who feel drawn to it.
When I’m not working, you can find me out at the park, taking an improv comedy class, biking around Brooklyn, or surfing in the Rockaways. I would bring that same sense of curiosity to our work together.
