Therapy sessions offer a rare and unique opportunity to express ourselves freely, and I place tremendous value in making these sessions a place to speak your mind in order to discover more about your real self. I strive to create a collaborative space where you can make your needs known as we navigate life’s challenges together. For me, therapy is about pursuing wellbeing and finding ways to create meaning and purpose in one’s daily life.
As a native New Yorker, I have a passion for helping my fellow New York residents negotiate the many challenges that come with life in our hectic but wonderful city. I know firsthand how challenging daily life can be here, and I seek to create an objective oasis for my clients where you can pause and take the time needed to focus on yourself. Working in other practice settings here in NYC has shown me how common the stressors that New Yorkers share truly are, and I bring that experience to each session with my clients.
My interest in psychotherapy began years ago, stemming from my interest in helping others and my own positive experiences in talk therapy. I find therapy to be a terrific creative outlet for both the client and myself as we each take on new perspectives to tackle the challenges in their daily lives. That opportunity for collaboration drives me to do in-depth work, and I love each opportunity to see life from my client’s point-of-view.
Last year, I returned to City College to pursue my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling to give me the opportunity to aid others in their mental health journeys in a one-on-one, therapeutic setting. I draw from person-centered, existential, narrative, and cognitive-behavioral modalities to provide my clients with a well-rounded approach and make sure that I meet them where they are in their healing process.
Outside of sessions, I like to spend time with friends and family, see live music, go to the gym, and watch my beloved New York Knicks.
