Hennessey, MA, EdM, LMHC

Born in London, Benet was formerly the president of an international art company based in London and New York, and a member of the Institute of Directors.  He is Director Emeritus of the award winning IHI Therapy Center.

Benet graduated Columbia University with a Master of Arts in Psychological Counseling (M.A.) and a Master of Education in Psychology (Ed.M.). He holds an Advanced Certificate in Clinical Practice from New York University, Postgraduate Certificate in Counseling from the Australian College of Applied Psychology and Certificate in Counseling from City College, London.

Benet is an Adjunct Professor at New York University and Brooklyn College.

He is a member of the American Psychological Association, New York Mental Health Counselors Association & the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy

Benet is very experienced in the major psychological modalities and extensively trained in Multicultural Counseling, LGBTQ issues, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), together with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). He holds numerous certifications including the Primary Practicum from the Albert Ellis Institute.
