Following a rewarding career in the corporate world and then working as a full time mother, Tracey decided to go back to school to pursue a graduate degree in psychology. In doing so, she combined her life experience and interest in psychology with her innate capacity for counseling others. In addition to a BA in Psychology, she received a Master of Arts in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness from NYU.
After graduation, she designed a program utilizing supportive counseling as a tool for increasing the well-being of older adults experiencing cognitive challenges.
Tracey’s particular areas of expertise include depression, anxiety, and issues around life transitions and loss, utilizing a combination of psychodynamic therapy and REBT. She volunteers as a support group leader for adult children caring for a parent with Alzheimer’s disease. She has also received training in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and meditation.
Additional areas of interest are animal assisted therapy and music therapy. Tracey is a member of the American Counseling Association and the New York Mental Health Counselors Association.
