I really enjoy Evan's practical approach & application of REBT. He provided a great framework to effect real change.

I'm so happy to have found Evan and this therapy practice. Thank you for everything (so far!)

As a client, I feel that he has really helped me with several of the issues I went to therapy to work on.

At various times in our lives, the person we aspire to be and the person we are, do not align. Oftentimes we get lost in unhelpful ways of thinking that no longer serve the current version of who we are. However, it is possible to update these patterns as well as the way we view ourselves.

I began my career in the Financial Communications industry, working with clients in the financial services world and navigating various strategic crises. Subsequently, I pivoted to the entertainment industry, working in Casting for a long running reality show on History Channel, as well as working as an assistant on a number of scripted television projects. While I’d long been passionate about storytelling and in these fields, I learned the diverse ways stories can be told, crafted and updated. Ultimately, I’d always held a desire to help others and the idea of working with clients to craft their own stories contributed to my decision to become a therapist.

I recognize that change is a constant and that there is no perfect time to begin building a life you are proud of. Despite living in an often individualistic society, I acknowledge that you don’t have to undertake the process of change alone and that having someone in your corner to help you navigate this is a sign of bravery.

Together, we will collaborate to set goals and build skills as you work to become a more complete version of yourself. I believe the relationship between clinician and client is paramount to a fulfilling and productive therapeutic experience and understand this relationship must be nurtured over time in order for treatment to be both meaningful and effective.

My therapeutic approach is integrative as I pull elements from various modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) and Strength-Based theory. I hold a B.A. in Political Science from Washington University in St. Louis as well as a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Pace University.

In my free time I enjoy hiking trails upstate, performing stand up comedy , and catching a wide variety of television shows (some of my favorites include “The Sopranos”, “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and “Survivor”!).
I am also an avid fan of basketball and hope to witness the Knicks bring a championship to New York at least once in my lifetime…though I’m not holding my breath 🙂
